Make signs for the March for Science (April 22) and/or the People’s Climate March (April 29)! Takoma Park Mobilization is teaming up with local restaurants to hold two SIGN-MAKING parties. Come socialize, eat, drink, support your local businesses, make your Metro meet-up plans, and MAKE THOSE SIGNS. Some signmaking materials will be provided, but please bring your own if you can…posterboard, markers, paper towel tubes, and markers much appreciated. No glitter please, at our hosts’ requests.

This Wednesday, April 19: Montgomery County Council Town Hall

“The Montgomery County Council will meet with residents of the Silver Spring area when it hosts a Town Hall Meeting starting at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at the Long Branch Community Center. Residents will be able to express views, ask questions of Councilmembers on schools, public safety, County immigration policy, [and] lessons learned from 2016 apartment building fire.”


Launch: Communities United Against Hate – Montgomery County (April 23)

Please support the launch of Communities United Against Hate – Montgomery County is a nonpartisan organization that unites our diverse community to combat bigotry, support victims of hate, and promote inclusiveness in Montgomery County, Maryland.

People’s Climate March (April 29) + Sign-Making

The Takoma Park Mobilization will be out in force at the People’s Climate Movement’s March for Climate, Jobs, and Justice, Saturday, April 29. TPM and allied groups are organizing buses downtown from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, courtesy of Rep. Jamie Raskin. Sign up for a breakfast reception and rally, 8:30 am-10 am, and for buses departing at 10:30 am, at jamieraskin.com/ClimateMarch. We’ll also travel together by Metrorail from Takoma and Silver Spring.

And… the Takoma Park Mobilization is teaming up with local restaurants to hold two SIGN-MAKING parties. May Day Action: Immigrants and Workers March (May 1)

Join our friends at CASA and many thousands of others on May 1, international workers’ day.

As attacks on immigrants and refugees continue under the Trump Administration, we must unite to demand respect and fairness. On May 1st (May Day), we come together in Washington to show the world we will not be intimidated by the attacks on immigrants and those seeking opportunity in the United States.
