Civil Dialogue: Building Skills to Bridge the Divide
Concerned that political polarization is dividing our society into warring tribes?
Wish you could have non-adversarial discussions with people who do not share your views?
Want to reach out to them to explore possible common ground, but hesitate to do so?
In this workshop, you will learn and practice skills for:
- conducting conversations about difficult topics that don’t end in shouting matches
- inclusive listening and asking questions geared to understanding
This workshop be facilitated by two national experts in civil dialogue and mediation:
- Mary Jacksteit is former Project Director with Search for Common Ground and currently an Associate with the Public Conversations Project.
- Lorig Charkoudian is Executive Director of Community Mediation Maryland, a statewide network of local mediation centers.
