Pollinators Combat Food Insecurity in Takoma Park

The Pollinator group of Climate Action Coffee (CAC) participated with HarvestShare (https://harvestsharemd.org/) and Crossroads Market (https://www.crossroadscommunityfoodnetwork.org/) to distribute crates, soil and vegetable plants to families at Centro Nia ( a childcare center at Univ and NH Ave in Takoma Park). The goal is to help combat food insecurity by encouraging growing foods at home. The crates are self-contained and can be put on a balcony, front step or back yard. The families were provided with instructions, access to “how-to” videos, and follow up to see how they are doing.
