Show up for racial justice in MoCo, Sunday, April 15

Please join us for the next quarterly general meeting of Showing Up for Racial Justice – Montgomery County, MD chapter. We’ll be providing updates on campaigns from our accountability partners and offering myriad ways to get plugged in to local racial justice issues. We hope to see you there!

A note on giving: SURJ recognizes the need for reparations in our country, from interpersonal to institutional to governmental. We collect money at each meeting that we give to our POC-led accountability partners and use to directly support Black anti-racism activists. This event is free, but for those who are able, please bring cash for a collection plate. Note to People of Color: The purpose of SURJ nationally is to mobilize White people to work for racial justice through education and action directed by POC-led accountability partners. Our chapter, SURJ MoCo, is a multiracial group dedicated to undermining White support for White Supremacy. We welcome all who want to work for racial justice.

Transportation: Take the #34 Ride-On bus which stops near the corner of Beach Drive and Cedar Lane. If you would like a ride from the Metro, please indicate on the RSVP form.

Parking: There are two parking lots at Cedar Lane UUC. The lower lot (entrance at the corner of Cedar Lane & Beach Drive) has the closest parking to the lower level classrooms where the meeting will be held, but both lots are available.

Please indicate on the RSVP form if there are any other accommodations you need (child care, ASL or other language interpretation, etc) and we’ll do our best to provide them.
